Do you remember those little LED football games that proliferated about 8-10 years ago?
I found one a few days ago in our junk room, and spent about 5 minutes just looking for a battery for it, thinking the whole time ‘There must be a better way!’
Hence, LCD Football!
It's a very simple game. (Right now, it’s just a running game. You can’t even punt...yet) You are trying to score. The defensive linemen are trying to kill you, (read the instructions box…) Anyway, there are several menu options:

New Game This restarts the game in progress, it doesn't allow multiple games.
Difficulty This toggles whether or not the defensive linemen come at you at top speed,
or a little slower.
Run Repeat This toggles key repeat, a must for those REALLY high scores.
Sound Toggles the playing of sounds on/off.
Further:
When the field is first drawn, you can see a thick black line drawn in one of the endzones. This represents the actual goal line. You must run the length of the field 10 times to cover the whole field. When you are closer to the goalline than 10 yards, the line will be drawn at the distance that marks a touchdown.
When the men are drawn after each play, the fullback (you) are drawn two yards behind the line of scrimage. In other words, you must go at least three forward moves to make ANY progress at all.
Oh yeah, the spacebar beeps. It really does, your Mac is NOT broken. This'll probably be the pass button if anyone wants to see it…
As it says in the About box, this program is postcard/email-ware. It is _not_ freeware! If you use it, please let me know. Similarly, if you find any bugs, let me know. I am not demanding any money, (though as a college student, I wouldn't turn it down…), and do not require registration before use. (Doesn't it really make you angry when people do?)
WARNING: Do not think you can use this DA and not return the card. My ‘Associates’, Vinny and Guido, are very prompt about collecting. They have been known to mercilessly beat on people until the hapless victim gets a postcard in the mail…

In writing this DA, I used a wonderful little DA Skeleton called, oddly enough, ‘DASkeletonV2.0’ for Lightspeed Pascal 2.0 or greater, written by Michael J Conrad. His code is mentionware, and it works great. America Online has it in the Developer section, and it's probably across the world by now on local BBS's.
